David F. Alfonso
Alfonso is a self-made American entrepreneur, investor, operator and producer. For over twenty years, Alfonso’s career has been focused on private equity investing in complex situations. The investment strategy is acquiring attractively valued and under managed non-core business units from global corporations that can benefit from a hands-on operational approach. Alfonso has successfully completed over 50 global transactions, employing his specialized approach to detailed diligence required in acquiring corporate divestitures and to unlocking and growing value post-close. Alfonso has consummated deals in excess of $2 billion in overall enterprise value. Alfonso has been responsible for a diversified group of global companies, generating aggregate revenues of over $5 billion annually, with over 15,000 associates throughout the world. Alfonso’s experience includes significant international exposure to dealings in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Early Life
Alfonso was born in West Hartford, Connecticut and at the age of fourteen moved to South Florida with his family. Alfonso’s parents, Francisco and Ana Maria Alfonso, fled socialist Cuba in 1961 to escape the government control and immigrated to the United States to pursue the American dream.
Philanthropy & Outside Activities
Education:
While serving as a board member of the FIU Foundation, Alfonso was a member of the Finance and Audit Committee. In 2009, FIU recognized Alfonso as the first ever double Living Scholar donor, which provided scholarships to four FIU student athletes (2 men and 2 women). Additionally, in 2011, FIU’s Athletic Department announced the exclusive 5-year naming rights for the Panther Football team’s home field called “Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium.”
