Firm Acquires Unit of SSI Surgical Services

The Miami Herald, October 27, 2006 (Lisa Gibbs - Editor) - Empire Investment Holdings of Miami said its affiliate, MSI Surgical Solutions, has completed the acquisition of the off-site surgical reprocessing division of SSI Surgical Services.

The acquired business reprocesses surgical tools and supplies for use in hospitals and surgery centers. The firm has been renamed MSI Surgical Solutions and will keep its corporate headquarters in Syosset, N.Y. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Empire Investment Holdings is a private investment firm that acquires and manages non-core businesses from the Global 2000.
